This is my Harry Potter fan art that I had just finished. This one depicts a scene in Book Five, in latter chapters, where Harry and the gang rides a group of Thestrals to save Sirius Black. In case some of you hadn't read the book, Thestral is a creature that resembles a skeleton-horse, and can only be seen if you've experienced death (I mean, seen someone's death).
Er.. maybe the Thestral are a bit too eerie here, but Harry never thought of them to be pretty either I had a great time drawing the Thestrals, though my hands are pretty tired now from drawing 6 hours straight.... (I was supposed to be doing assignments now , but er, I had a student's block, ke ke ke)
Thanks to my brother for his help on the composition. Pencil on A3 paper.
man... i just finished the book, and the thestrels (to me) are among some of the best creatures in the series so far. (so cool)... i could just never get a clear mental image of them. but... i love you for drawing them!
composition-wise, this is a really nice piece. love the off-center focus that the moon has, as well as the riders spiraling around on the piece (or whatever it is that they're doing... looks sweet). very nice, especially for a sketch. think i might +fav this. good work!
Whoa, A3 paper means A3 scanner..... you lucky girl you....
It's amazingly detailed, and very well composed... There is any kind of creature you can't draw? What a perspective, I feel like flying with them! ^^ *nods at Brownkuma's message and would love to see it coloured*
And, lol, yay for those kind of blocks!

Ng? A3 scanner? I use ordinary A4 scanner. I had to scan it in three section to get a decent full image. But at least it works... I'm not very comfortable with the limited space of A4s since most drawings I do are quite big... If I'm dilligent, I should've make an inked version and resize it into A4 using fotocopier,it'll turn a lot better.... but that's suicide for lazy bums like me
And speaking of creatures I could not draw, there's tons of it. Like drawing a bull-gynecologist... or a kissy-lips cat... ke ke ke
I'll do a color version, as soon as school's done....

I'd like to show you some awesome nature related work from more or less unknown artists which deserve more attention - this is a must see, you won't regret it!!!
Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
I'm a lover of visual impacts. I like brilliant colors and shapes. And I decided to collect a whole stack of deviations that reflect that taste. These pieces showcased below deserve every bit of publicity you can give them. x)P
