This is a commission from a recent Furbuy auction I had, won by Newenglander.

The character, Janus, is the wolf who found and cared for the founders of Rome; Remus and Romulus.

A temple is then built by the twins to commemorate their bond in the past. But now the place is in ruins after one of the twins' death, and thus Janus sets out to seek her revenge.

I remember learning about the story of Remus and Romulus and how they were raised by a wolf, or some dog beast, back in my high school western civ. class. This is a really awesome take on that! Amazing detail and incredible emotion on Janus's face/pose!

Anyway, I've already collected this, so all that's left to do now it give my utmost congratulations for creating such a masterpiece. Not even going to bother splitting hairs - way too impressed for that. I could go on and on talking about all the composition, little details, atmosphere, lightning, how easily this can pass as a book illustration or an animated feature of sorts, but better try and stop while I'm ahead. Bravo.
